“The Comité Territorial de Óptica de México, A. C, (CTOM, Mexico Territorial Committee for Optics) is the official representation of the Mexican optics and photonics community before the International Commission for Optics (ICO) and a founding optics & photonics national association of the Red Iberoamericana de Óptica (RIAO, Iberian-American Optics Network).

The CTOM was established and accepted by ICO as the Territorial Committee of Mexico in 1972. After the constitution of the CTOM as a legal entity in Mexico, this was ratified as the official representation of México by the ICO 25th General Assembly.

The CTOM is a legal entity before the Mexican Government since 2022, consittuted as a non-for-profit association devoted to foster optics, photonics and all related disciplines among the Mexican scholars.

The CTOM governance relies on the Assembly of Associates; a five-years-term Board Directors constituted by a President, a Secretary and a Treasurer; and a three-years-term Executive Committee conformed by a President a Past-President and an Associate Secretary.
